Women entrepreneurs are driving the coworking field in 2022

Everyone wants more gender diversity, whether it’s a startup entrepreneur, an investor, a hiring manager at a big corporation, or even a political figure. In principle, everyone believes that equal representation of men and women in the workplace has a positive impact on the entire organization. Having different perspectives and approaches from different life experiences, especially from female team members, can translate into creativity and innovation, helping organizations harness new opportunities.

According to a survey by Bain and company, women have the dynamic ability to adapt to all situations and have a higher emotional quotient indicates another survey by Google and the AWE foundation. Interestingly, in 2021, India saw the highest number of startups ever turned into unicorns, with 10% of startups being led by female co-founders, which is the highest to date. The number indicates that in recent years, women have become business leaders and founding members of companies.

During the period, women leaders have registered their presence in all sectors and are slowly moving away from conventional sectors such as food processing, handicrafts and textiles towards real estate, ITES, BFSI, pharmaceuticals, hotels, tourism, etc. Some of the top reasons women entrepreneurs will drive the coworking field in 2022 are listed below:

  • Optimal use of resources:

Being superb multitaskers, female leaders are always careful about how and where to use their resources. Their natural ability to provide care and comfort makes them a suitable service provider in coworking spaces as they are hospitable by nature and understand people’s basic requirements to support any business and run day-to-day operations.

  • Promote startups led by other female founders

Female-led online workspaces empower and inspire women, while meeting their unique needs and desires. They not only encourage them to run their own business, but also help them meet their daily challenges, such as providing child-friendly office space and better hygiene in their workplace.

  • More empathy and compassion

The pandemic has forced people to value traditional qualities that are commonly associated with women, including empathy and compassion. According to a survey by McKinsey & Company and LeanIn.Org‘s Women in the Workplace 2021, female leaders consistently ensured manageable workloads for their teams, provided emotional support and checked on overall well-being more than men, and 87% of companies rated this as critical work . It is because of these qualities that today women, especially in coworking spaces, are seen as great business leaders.

  • Higher potential return and creation of more job opportunities for female candidates

A Boston Consulting Group report indicates that start-ups founded or co-founded by women generate 10% more cumulative revenue over five years. Additionally, it has been found that female-led businesses employ 3x more women than men, have a more inclusive workplace culture, and are expected to grow by 90% over the next five years.

Women are able to better visualize opportunities and tend to land better deals with companies and startups by providing better services at an affordable rate across all industries. Many industry reports indicate that women-led businesses perform better and are more likely to take risks in their business.

There is no doubt that women have strong leadership qualities. Their ability to express happy and calm emotions helps them see themselves as better leaders, while their characteristics of being nurturing, relationship-oriented, and responsive to emotional needs are seen as assets.
