India, UK agree to deepen cooperation in IT, IT News, ET CIO

New Delhi: India and the United Kingdom agreed on Thursday to deepen their cooperation to address the various challenges emanating from the cyber domain. At the first meeting of the joint India-UK Cyber ​​Deterrence Working Group, the two sides agreed to work closely together to jointly develop strategies to counter emerging challenges.

The two sides discussed various key aspects related to cyber deterrence and ways to deepen the existing bilateral cyber cooperation under the India-UK cyber relationship signed on April 17, 2018 “said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MEA).

The meeting was held in virtual format.

“India and the UK have agreed to work closely together and hold regular consultations to address the challenges of cyber deterrence and to develop effective cyber deterrence strategies,” the MEA added in a statement. .

The Indian delegation was led by Atul Malhari Gotsurve, Deputy Secretary (Cyber ​​Diplomacy) at MEA, while the UK team was led by Will Middleton, Cyber ​​Director of the Foreign Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO).

The meeting brought together senior cyber officials from the respective ministries and departments of the two countries.
